DIVA Room (DIVA ルーム,DIVA Rūmu?) is a well-known feature in the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series that debuted in the first game. It's a feature where players can come to meet the virtual singers and become friends with them.
The feature made its first appearance in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA, however, it was only available to Miku and was called the Miku Room. Unlocking rooms and room items are almost entirely random, with the game listing each room and item as having a low, medium or high probability of being unlocked. While it is possible that some items would require players to clear a song with Great rating, the unlocked item would still be completely random.
In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd, all characters now have their own DIVA Room, but they must be unlocked by clearing each characters' first songs in the game. Akita Neru, Yowane Haku and Sakine Meiko's rooms must be unlocked by unlocking the characters themselves. Here, unlocking other rooms and items can now simply be from clearing the songs in the rhythm game mode, which would becoming a staple for the Project DIVA series from then on. The Happiness Meter is also introduced and determines how much attention is given to the character and also affects their mood. In addition, the game introduces scenes of events that happen in random: characters visiting each other's rooms, character-specific events, etc.
In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F, the DIVA Room returns with a redesigned look. There are new character event, some now featuring up to three characters, and Neru, Haku, and Kasane Teto (all DLC characters) are now relegated to an Extra Room and only one of the three can be selected to use it. A new feature was added to the DIVA Room called "Communication Mode" which can allow the player to pet the selected character and participate in the minigame "Made You Look!". As in Project DIVA 2nd, Miku's room is available at the start while the other characters must have their rooms unlocked by clearing their first songs in the game.
In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd, the DIVA Room functions mostly the same as in Project DIVA F, except all of the characters' rooms are now available at the start. More features have been added to Communication Mode: a Fever Mode which can happen after petting a character a certain number of times, and a new minigame called "Patty Cake".
In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, the DIVA Room becomes the base of operations in which players engage in conversations with Miku and the other virtual singers, helping them in Cloud Requests. Beyond that, it functions mostly the same from Project DIVA F and F 2nd.
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai[]
This feature also appears in the Project Mirai series, under the name Your Room (マイルーム,Mai Rūmu?). Like the Project DIVA series, players can change the Room Theme to one of six themes, each having their own BGM.
In Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai, Your Room features are mainly basic, such as the ability to change a room's theme and viewing events that occur at random. Players will also have use of the Nintendo 3DS' microphone feature to engage in conversation with one of the selected characters. Other features include a Scheduler to schedule desired occassions, this feature will also let players set and alarm for this occassion, the Alarm feature itself, which let's the character speak to the player when the alarm reaches a specified time, and listen to tracks on the Music Player.
In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2, the Your Room feature returns and has been significantly overhauled. There are now new room themes, and it is now possible to place Items purchased from the Mirai Mall in the room. Communication with the game's characters has also improved, now letting you feed them food and give them Mirai Points as an allowance. It is now shown in notification cutscenes that the rooms are now apartments as indicated by the appearance of a Lobby that characters sometimes go down to. One of the games new features, Mirai Estates, allows players to change a character's room, and in addition to the new rooms, there are also two additional rooms that have limited living time: the Penthouse and the Mirai Resort Villa, both costing Mirai Points to rent out. Players can also engage with the characters in the minigame "PuyoPuyo 39!". Other features such the Alarm and Music Player return from Future Stars: Project Mirai.
In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, the Your Room feature remains relatively the same from Project Mirai 2, though there is now a new minigame that allows players to go up against their selected character, "Mikuversi". Other changes for this game include new beach event cutscenes for the Mirai Resort Villa and additional BGM tracks for the Music Player.
