Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater (初音ミク -Project DIVA- Dreamy Theater?) is an enhanced port of the PlayStation Portable game Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA. It was released digitally for the PlayStation 3 on 24 June 2010.
Gameplay[]
Accessing Dreamy Theater[]
In order for Project DIVA Dreamy Theater to be played, players should have a copy of the original PSP version of the game (the digital PlayStation Vita version of the game will also work), the PlayStation Portable itself, and a functioning USB cable. Players should also have the Memory Stick that is storing game and edit data from Project DIVA inserted in their PSP during data transfer. After Dreamy Theater is purchased and downloaded from the PlayStation 3 Store, players will also need to download the Project DIVA Dreamy Theater Connection App and the USB cable connected between the two consoles to copy the Connection App onto the PSP for authentication. After launching the app on the PSP, players should launch Dremay Theater on the PS3 and authetication should begin. It should be noted that the PSP and PS3 need to be connected each time Dreamy Theater is launched. After Dreamy Theater is successfully launched, players should go to the "DIVA Data Copy" from the main menu and transfer their game and edit data to Dreamy Theater. Dreamy Theater can only play the songs and Modules that have been unlocked from the PSP version (e.g. if the song "Ievan Polkka" or the Megurine Luka Swimwear Module have not been unlocked in the PSP version, they cannot be used in Dreamy Theater).
Changes from Project DIVA[]
- Visuals and graphics for Dreamy Theater use enhanced models (similar to those used in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade) rendered in 720p high-definition, and support a framerate of 60 FPS.
- Characters on the main menu screen are now static images rather than floating with their eyes closed. Each character has their own static pose.
- Module stock poses are replaced with the static images of the same pose of that character.
- A selection SFX is played when selecting to start a song.
- The "Miku Room" feature, as well as all Room Items, are removed.
- The "Edit Mode" feature is removed. However, players can still play Edit Data saved on the PSP game through the Data Transfer.
- The "Gallery" feature is removed. However, the illustrations still act as loading screens.
- The song "Sakura no Ame" was removed for unknown reasons.
- "Ievan Polkka", "I'm Your Diva", "Electric Angel", "The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku", and "Requiem for the Phantasma", all of which had slideshows of illustrations in the PSP version, now have actual 3D PVs which are all carried over from Project DIVA Arcade.
- A "Playlist" feature is added, which lets players create playlists of songs of their choosing.
- A "DIVA Data Copy" feature is added, which players must use to transfer their PSP game data to this game.
- The game has the option to auto-save, which the original PSP version does not have.
- The "Options" menu removes the ability to change the volume of the game's BGM.
Development[]
Earliest known information on Project DIVA Dreamy Theater came during the after-live portion of the Miku no Hi Kanshasai 39's Giving Day event as one of the detailed informations on then upcoming titles for the Project DIVA franchise.[1] The game's official website was opened on 23 April 2010.[2] It was later announced that the game's release would be on 24 June 2010 and additional information on how to access the game was added to the official website.[3] A 2 minute trailer was uploaded to the official SEGA feat. HATSUNE MIKU Niconico channel on 4 June 2010 and a final 3 minute trailer being uploaded later on .[4][5]
