"Marginal" (マージナル Mājinaru?) is a song sung by Hatsune Miku which is composed, written and arranged by OSTER project.
Game appearances
The song first appeared in the first Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA where it can be unlocked by clearing "Grumpy Waltz". The song would later be featured in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater 2nd with the exact same rhythm game and PV (albeit with updated high-definition visuals).
"Marginal" was also featured in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone and was also one of the first songs in the initial version of the arcade game as with the other songs previously featured in the first Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA game. When the arcade game was updated to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone, an Extra Extreme difficulty rhythm game chart for the song was added on 25 April 2018.
"Marginal" returned in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd (and Dreamy Theater 2nd) where it can be unlocked by clearing "Sound". It featured the exact same PV it had in its predecessor. The song was featured once again in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd as downloadable content that can be purchased from the PlayStation store. For the Japanese version, it was included in the 13th Batch released on 5 March 2015 while in the English version, it was included in the 10th Batch released on 4 April 2015 and 5 April in North America and Europe respectively. Its PV was based on its earlier appearances but was slightly modified to have a Chance Time Success event.
In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone, "Marginal" was included in the Future Sound song pack.
