Game appearances[]

"Melancholic" first appeared in Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai where it can be unlocked by clearing "PIANO*GIRL". Its PV was modified from its original version to include 3D functionality. Its next appearance was in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F with a brand new PV and is available at the start of the game. The song would later be featured again in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 and Project Mirai DX where it was unlocked after clearing "Electric Love". In Project Mirai DX, the song's 3D PV was replaced with a Nendoroid PV and its rhythm chart was altered.

The song (alongside its Project DIVA F PV) was later added to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone on 28 January 2014 and its Extra Extreme difficulty chart was added later on 23 May 2018. In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone, "Melancholic" was included in the Future Sound song pack and its Extra Extreme difficulty chart was added later via a patch on 27 September 2018. It is also featured in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix, with its PV modified to include the ToonShader graphics, though it has the same rhythm game it has in Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone in Arcade Mode.
