"Senbonzakura" (千本桜, "Senbonzakura"^? lit. "Thousand Cherry Blossoms") is a song primarily sung by Hatsune Miku which is composed, written and arranged by Kurousa P.

Game appearances[]

The song first appeared in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F where it was one of the DLC songs released as a purchasable add-on to the PlayStation Vita version of the game while in the PlayStation 3 version, it can be unlocked by clearing "Rin-chan Now!". It was later added to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade on 19 March 2013 where it featured the original PV from the song video's uploaded to Niconico. The song was later featured in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 and subsequently in Project Mirai DX where it can unlocked by clearing "LOL -lots of laugh-". Its original length version was used and was accompanied with a different PV following the Nendoroid visual style of the game.

A second version of the song was featured in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone under the name "Senbonzakura -F edition-" where its PV was based off entirely from that of Project DIVA F. In addition, a Vocal Change version titled "Senbonzakura -F edition All Version-", featuring all six of the main virtual singers (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO) was also added as a toggleable vocal option. It was added on 26 March 2015.

In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone, "Senbonzakura" is included in the Colorful Tone song pack while "Senbonzakura -F edition-" is included in the Future Sound song pack, which allowed all five guests to be customizable. "-F edition-" is also featured in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix while the original Arcade edition is included in the Extra Song Pack DLC for Project DIVA MegaMix+ and added to the original Project DIVA MegaMix as part of the Song Pack 18 DLC. The PV for "-F edition-" was modified to include the ToonShader graphics, though it has the same rhythm game it has in Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone in Arcade Mode.

Trivia[]

"Senbonzakura" was entirely absent from the Korean versions of Project Mirai DX and Project DIVA MegaMix and the Korean PlayStation Store does not offer the Project DIVA F DLC containing the song for the PlayStation Vita version nor does it offer the PlayStation 3 version of the game. This is likely due to the nature of the song's political references in the lyrics that may be regarded offensive to Koreans. The demo version of Project Mirai DX used "The World is Mine" instead.
In Project DIVA F and Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone, only the main singer can be customized. If a Rin, Len, Luka, KAITO, or MEIKO module is chosen, Miku replaces them in the video using her Ichi-no-Sakura Blossom module.
In Project DIVA F, the geta sandals from MEIKO's Rei-no-Sakura Camellia Module will clip through the ground. However, this will not occur when the Module is selected as the singer. This mistake was fixed in Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone.
In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, the romaji word "haikara" was changed to the proper English word "HIGH COLLAR", while the dashes were added to the word "ICBM" between each letter as "I-C-B-M".
